Works
It's a new year, a new decade and I'm having a very good start to them both! 🎨
I have an exhibition coming up next month at Water Street Gallery in Todmorden. So far I have forty paintings which are almost ready to hang, and a few yet to resolve. I'm looking forward to delivering the selected ones to the gallery at the beginning of February, ie in a couple of week's time... Yikes! My work will be on the walls from Thursday 13 February until Sunday 22 March. Gallery opening times are detailed below.
The Private View is on Thursday 13 February 6 - 8.30 pm - all are welcome!
(RSVP please to the gallery for catering purposes.)

2018: Solo Exhibition at Artsmill
'Beyond', a painting from my time at Brooklyn Studios
Coal Hills - acrylic and collage 2014
Here's a painting/collage that almost didn't see the light. In a moment when I didn't have a gesso'd board to use I made a mask painting on the back which I then put loosely in a frame. And there it stayed until I was getting ready for the Open Studios last Christmas and rediscovered it, none the worse being sent to the corner! I rather like it and now the 'mask' has been consigned to the back, sealed in this time by the lovely people at Abacus Frames. I must gesso more panels for next time!

Here are a few examples of my work, some old, some new. Two out of the four were sold from exhibitions at ArtsMIll, Hebden Bridge.
At Wainsgate Chapel.
The first one shown above is 'Warm Shoes' which was painted at Wainsgate in the summer of 2013. This was one of my first forays into working in oils. The next piece, painted in acrylics is entitled 'Lost'. Happily I sold this one from my little pop up shop in Hebden Bridge in 2010. 'Brown Table' was painted last year and was first exhibited at Waterside Gym in 2012. Finally, 'Small Figure' is a sketch in acrylic created as one of a series of works depicting figures.
Both the original paintings and limited edition giclée prints of 'Warm Shoes' and 'Brown Table' are available to buy. Please email me if you are interested or would like to arrange a studio viewing.

Some crafty pursuits
Here's a little chair made out of elephant wire ...I do like chairs in case you didn't know!
And below, an advertisement for a Sock Creature stitching workshop that I organised in 2010.
And here are some shots of my old pots from my previous life as a ceramic artist.
