Taking part in the Open Studios has motivated me to have a good old clear out and now my little bolt-hole is as tidy as it's ever going to get…at least until the next opening! Here are some shots: And panning around to a less tidy view (just so you won't expect a pristine exhibition space!)
The Birchcliffe People : the two painters, Lisa Kilty and myself have our studios on the ground floor. The four ceramicists have a workshop down in the basement (they have also taken over the lovely and calm yoga room for their display). If you enter through the front doors you'll see a plan in the foyer to help you to get around. Alternatively, you can come in via the side entrance on Chapel Avenue - go downstairs to the ceramics workshop and upstairs to the painting studios. The Centre is open Saturday and Sunday this weekend and Friday and Saturday next, from 11 - 5pm on each of the four days.

The exhibition in the underground bar is just about ready with about two weeks to go until the official opening…this is unheard of in my long experience of going right down to the wire with mounting shows. Debbie has just one more painting to frame and hang and then we're done. Here's a snapshot of the bar showing work in progress last week. You can't see the red spots but three of them are lurking in corners! We're having the official opening on 3 July from 6 - 8pm, all welcome.
Deb Wilkes and I are joining forces once more to put on an exhibition of recent work at our local wine bar. The official opening night is on 3 July but happily we were asked to fill the walls early and we have already hung all but one painting. Beyond the enticement of our paintings with possibly some of Deb's pots to follow, Nelsons is a "friendly, chilled out underground bar offering continental beers, fine wines and homemade vegetarian food" : ) Opening times are Tuesday to Sunday from 5pm.
