Thank you to all the lovely people who came through the doors of Brooklyn Studios this weekend!6/7/2015 Phew! What a great weekend for Brooklyn Studios. It was good to see some new faces and some old, or should I say 'familiar'! Even though I was only able to make it on the Sunday, it was a very enjoyable way to spend a day.
And I was very happy to have quite a number of my paintings returned to me whilst I was away by the my co-exhibitor, Deb Wilkes. I was grateful also to my friends Lynda and Sakinah for putting them up on the walls - they did very well considering that the work only arrived at the last minute and they had their own spaces to organise too. I have spent much of today rearranging my studio and generally tidying up so now I can relax back into work. Here are some shots of the space as it is now: Here is the official poster for the open studios. A painting of mine may be seen on the right of the poster, third one down. Cathy Edwards who also works at Brooklyn Studio has a picture of one of her lovely leather bags on the top line.
As well as having a lot of new work on view at Brooklyn Studios this weekend, I have seven paintings in a mixed show at The Calder Gallery from now until mid-August. This is what they say on their website: "...Anna Gibson’s works are quiet and thoughtful paintings of everyday objects and vague imagined landscapes.
