I'm happy to have had four paintings accepted for the ‘Small Works’ + ‘Micro Art’ exhibition which runs from 10 November through to 31 January 2017 in the fantastic Water Street Gallery in Todmorden. Here's a photo' of the paintings ready to wrap and go later this morning. To the left of the table is a box with Ali Dawson's lovely book art creations which are also on their way to WSG.

Provisional title: 'Through the Heather' or perhaps 'Thin Cloud'? And this one: 'The Damp Air' perhaps?
Spirals have introduced some new art work within the above theme. I have two of my paintings included: 'Many-coloured Birches' and 'The Dell'. The first is a mixed media painting incorporating printed materials, inks and acrylic paint. The Dell was painted last month using acrylics. I'm very happy to have my work nestled in the blue corner of The Art Room, together with some beautiful ceramic pieces.
I have now arranged my work on the lovely bright walls of Nelsons and there they will stay until Wednesday 2 November. My paintings are in the company of the photographic prints of Sarah Halstead and Angie Rogers who share a studio at Hebble End Works (just upstairs from mine). For me it was a bit of a challenge to bring together enough work to fill all the nooks and crannies in the three distinct areas of the bar but Angie/s and Sarah's larger prints complete the show beautifully and add a different slant on the idea of place. The title of the exhibition suggests a common area with our work. My work continues to focus on semi-abstract landscape. I will post more images of the work later. Here's a link to Angie's website http://www.angierogers.com/ And Sarah's is https://www.facebook.com/sarahhalsteadart/ Above: the chaos that was my desk on the day of mounting the exhibition. This photograph, taken at about 4.30pm shows all the work on the walls, just the statements and labels left to do. Feeling happy to have a fairly large selection of work on show for the best part of a month.
The wine bar is open daily from 5pm until late. A corner of The Art Room in Spirals as it was at the beginning of August. Three of my paintings can be seen in the foreground. Beautifully displayed on the first floor of Spirals are a couple of my prints, three greetings cards and two postcard designs. Three paintings entitled 'Paddock', 'Many-coloured Birches' and 'Far Land'. Unframed prints of the first two images are also available from Spirals.
